B’nai Sholom Welcomes Community with Free High Holy Day Tickets

B’nai Sholom Reform Congregation is opening its doors to welcome newcomers for the High Holy Days with complimentary tickets to all services during the Days of Awe.

                In a break from the past, the congregation is offering visitors and guests the opportunity to attend High Holy Day services at no charge. They can attend any or all of the services either as guests of the congregation’s members, who will obtain tickets for them, or by arranging to receive tickets directly from the synagogue office. Guests also may enjoy B’nai Sholom’s reception after the Rosh Hashanah evening service, lunch at a congregant’s home after Rosh Hashanah morning service and the break-fast following the concluding service on Yom Kippur.

  “B’nai Sholom welcomes everyone for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and beyond.  We’ve made it easier than ever for guests – whether they are longtime Capital Region residents, visitors or newcomers – to join us for our joyous and meaningful services,” said B’nai Sholom President Mimi Bruce.

   “Our highly participatory Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services combine traditional Jewish prayers and creative renderings, using a gender-sensitive prayer book attuned to modern Reform Judaism,” said Rabbi Don Cashman, B’nai Sholom’s spiritual leader since 1985.

                While tickets will be provided as a welcoming gesture of community and hospitality, the congregation will appreciate a voluntary contribution and/or participation in any of its social action efforts.
