“THE SEA”

Sunday, April 26 at 700 p.m.

Khaled, a 12-year-old boy from a Palestinian village, sets out to fulfill his dream of viewing the sea for the first time leaving the West Bank even he doesn’t know the way nor  speak any Hebrew.  When his father, an undocumented laborer working in Israel, learns that his son is missing, he leaves his job in search of him—risking arrest and the loss of his livelihood. A tender and poignant drama filled with human empathy, this beautifully made film follows young Khaled on his innocent and heartfelt quest to fulfill his dream. A joint Israeli-Palestinian project The Sea “offers a rare and nuanced view of contemporary Israel through an outsider’s perspective, exemplifying a powerful collaboration between Jewish and Arab storytellers.” 2026 Jury Prize, Miami Jewish Film Festival.
